1 Define pathology and describe its major branches, scope, and relevance in understanding disease mechanisms.
2 Describe cellular injury, inflammation, and tissue repair mechanisms.
3 Describe the pathological process from cellular injury to disease formation.
4 Define neoplasia and differentiate between benign and malignant tumors
5 Explain tumor biology
6 Explain host immune responses against tumors.
7 Explain the genetic and molecular basis of cancer
8 Describe the biochemical mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression
9 Interpret the role of tumor markers, angiogenesis, and metastatic pathways in cancer progression
10 Describe types and effects of radiation, including interaction with matter and medical applications.
11 Describe the epidemiology and risk factors of cancer, including environmental and hereditary causes, and explain basic principles of prevention and screening.
