Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Discuss and demonstrate awareness of ethical, moral and legal responsibilities of physicians involved in providing care to individual patients and communities
2 Demonstrate her/his acceptance for compassion, respect of privacy and dignity of others in their professional life

4 Be aware of the necessity for physicians being a role model of integrity, honesty and probity
5 Accept the importance of appropriate consent
6 Describe patient rights and explain the context
7 Explain the evolution of patient rights
8 Analyze ethical and moral dilemmas and legal and psychosocial dimensions of beginning and end of life
9 Be familiar with the main documents of Patient Rights in Turkey
10 Be aware of ethical conflicts due to new medical technologies such as organ transplantation, new reproductive techniques and genetics
