About Programme

Bioethics is very dynamic discipline which covers all the value issues related with the living beings. It is an activity and practice of deeper thinking about ethical issues in health sciences, healthcare policy-making and decision making in life science practices. As a both theoretical and applied discipline, bioethics covers the analysis of ethical dilemmas with rational reasoning. It is open to and works closely with the disciplines of philosophy, law, public health, history, forensic medicine, biomedical technologies in collaboration with the social sciences.

Acibadem University Bioethics Master Program aims to develop the critical thinking of the perception of society and individual through universal bioethical principles and to put them into practice by field studies inspired by the ethical and professional values. The first year of Bioethics Master Program includes compulsory and elective courses. The second year is the research and thesis writing term. Admission Requirements
The graduate program in bioethics, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, nursing and other health sciences faculties and the faculties of Science and arts, biology, departments of Molecular Biology and genetics, Law, philosophy, sociology or other related field is a 4-year graduates of the Department of education, with domestic and overseas graduates of schools approved by YÖK may apply
Higher Grade Transition
Students who have successfully completed this program and obtained a master's degree can continue doctoral programs in related fields (such as Bioethics, medical history and Ethics).
Graduation Requirements
The program is scheduled to be completed in at least four semesters. The first two semesters are the course term and students take the compulsory and elective courses together. During the course period, students must successfully complete at least 23 local or 60 ECTS credits. Dissertation work begins in the third semester. The thesis period is at least two semesters (60 ECTS credits). To complete this program, at least 21 local or 120 ECTS credits must be successfully completed.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the program can work in Ethics Committee (Research, Hospital, academic,...) , provide Counseling in private and public hospitals, can serve as experts/advisor in Biomedicine and biotechnology companies, give lectures in the field of bioethics, medical ethics and history of Medicine at the undergraduate level and high schools and conduct academic research and project work in the area.
Assessment and Grading
Midterm exam / homework / project, etc Dec. studies and a final exam are conducted. Evaluation criteria for each course are specified in the course information packages. Final exams are held in the date range determined according to the academic calendar announced by Acıbadem University Institute of Health Sciences at the beginning of the year. Faculty members evaluate all the work, homework, midterms and final exams during the semester and make grading according to the course passing grade system determined by the Institute.
