About Programme
|
The aim of Dialysis Program is to raise health technicians who are expected to work in the dialysis units for diseases requiring dialysis treatments in the stages of taking patient to dialysis machine, follow-up and treatment and completion of dialysis process.
The program has a 2-year education period and the education language is Turkish.
Program students are trained by studying on real dialysis machines in the Center of Advanced Simulation and Education (CASE). They apply vascular access practices with real materials on the advanced model arms. They learn hemodialysis complications through simulations.
Program students gain pre-graduate professional experience with internship and practice courses in the hospitals of Acıbadem Healthcare Group and other dialysis centers which are in cooperation with the university.

History
|
Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Vocational School of Health Services, ‘dialysis technician’ programme started education and training in 2013-2014 academic year. The aim of the programme is to train technical staff who are especially equipped to adopt ethical values of the profession, recognize dialysis devices, know how to maintain and establish them and know monitoring and termination stages. The programme includes theoretical and practical courses such as anatomy of the urinary system, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, microbiology and basic information about, as well as lectures about the principles of patient care and specific clinical approach to dialysis patients, dialysis treatment.

Qualification Awarded
|
Those who have completed their two - year education and graduated with an associate degree, receive the title of Health Technician-Dialysis technician.

Admission Requirements
|
Our programme admits students according to the resutls of YKS and TYT that are conducted by OSYM.
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates are able to make vertical transfer to Nursing, Nursing and Health Services undergraduate programmes.
|
Graduation Requirements
|
In order to graduate, the student must have accomplished all the courses in the program and not have the grades of FF, FG, NA and U. In the operating room Services Program, students must complete 120 ECTS and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates are able to work in public and private dialysis centers under the title of “dialysis technician”. According to the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS), health technicians can be appointed as dialysis technicians.
|
Assessment and Grading
|
Various measurement and evaluation methods such as mid-term exam, quiz, practice, seminar, project and final are used for the evaluation of students. For graduation, the GPA is expected to be at least 2 out of 4. Courses are scored and lettered as shown in the table.
