About Programme

Acıbadem University Institute of Health Sciences Forensic Sciences Master's Program with thesis is a multidisciplinary master's program prepared with the contributions of different disciplines for those who want to specialize in forensic sciences.

Forensic Sciences is one of the fastest rising and increasing popularity branches of recent times. The basis of the glare of Forensic Sciences is now the ability of the judiciary, the police force, and the forensic scientific methods to find the solution in all kinds of cases where there is conflict and dissent. Especially in cases reflected in the judiciary, the number of cases that can be solved without resorting to the methods of forensic science and without obtaining forensic opinion has become very limited.

The recent increase in all forms of violence, especially in cases of individual violence, the fact that many people, especially women and children, the elderly, and the disabled, experience physical, sexual and emotional violence increases the importance of forensic sciences. Because the only way to detect violence experienced in all cases, whether child abuse or sexual violence is obtained by the coroner's report as quickly as possible and only thus the rights of the victim can be protected.

Forensic scientific methods should be used in all cases, starting with mental problems such as legal license and criminal license, medical practice errors, disability and disability calculations in accidents, when an autopsy performed in fatal cases and determining the cause of death and especially whether it is murder, accident, suicide or natural cause of origin, which we call origin.

With the extraordinary advances in forensic science laboratory technology, it has become an area in the field of identification and toxicology that can now give near-certain results. Especially in identification and paternity detections, DNA use, toxicological and drug analysis spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods have become a position that reduces question marks and even eliminates them in many cases with the precise results obtained.

Forensic Sciences Master's programs with and without thesis aim to provide education in line with the two main objectives. The first is that this area is a relatively new field and there is a great need for young scientists in the field of forensic sciences because scientific studies are walking at a very fast pace.

Our master's program with thesis aims to discuss the initiatives that can be made in this field on the scientific platform by teaching methodological working principles and scientific approaches in light of new developments in the world. In our master's program without thesis, it aims to respond to the need of the judiciary for great human resources in the field of forensic sciences and to train experts in its field.

The most characteristic feature of Forensic Sciences is that it is a field of science that has multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary working characteristics and aims to work together experts from many different fields. From medical doctors to nurses, paramedics, psychologists, lawyers, sociologists and social workers, intensive forensic studies are carried out.

Forensic and forensic science approaches in many different subjects such as child abuse, sexual violence, medical practice errors, homicides, murders, toxicological analyses, crime scene investigations, victimology studies, both contribute greatly to understanding the dynamics and development of events and to determining the truth on a legal level.

The Master of Forensic Sciences program accepts its students both with and without thesis.
