About Programme

The aim of First and Emergency Aid Program is to raise qualified paramedics (Ambulance and Emergency Care Technicians) particularly to serve in health institutions, where they can perform interventions in order to save the life of patients and prevent injuries in the most appropriate way in emergency situations and work in emergency health service units of other institutions and organizations.

The program has a 2-year education period and the education language is Turkish.

Students develop professional skills with the applied practices in the Center of Advanced Simulation and Education (CASE).

Program students gain pre-graduate professional experience with internships in the hospitals of Acıbadem Healthcare Group and other health institutions which are in cooperation with the university.

History
Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University first and Emergency Assistance Program started its education for the first time in the 2009-2010 academic year. The aim of the program is to bring qualified paramedics (ambulance and emergency care technicians) to society who will work in the emergency medical services units of other institutions and organizations, especially health organizations that can perform interventions to save the patient's life or prevent injuries in the most appropriate way.
Qualification Awarded
Those who have completed their two - year education and graduated with an associate degree are awarded the title of Medical Technician-Emergency Medical Technician.
Admission Requirements
First and Emergency Programme admits students according to result of (TYT) obtained by the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by (ÖSYM)
Higher Grade Transition
Students who graduated from the programme can make vertical transfer to Emergency and Disaster Management, Nursing and health services and the nursing department if succeed in DGS counducted by ÖSYM
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, the student must have accomplished all the courses in the program and not have the grades of FF, FG, NA and U. In the first and emergency aid program, students must complete 120 ECTS and have a general weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students can work in 112 emergency Help centers, public and private sector in the emergency room of hospitals, air and sea ambulance, medical centers in all units, who provide emergency medical services, the health service that  execute s private and Voluntary Organizations at different levels (e.g., Directorate General of Red Crescent Society).

The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the “course instruction plan”prepared by the related lecturers and included in the information package. Related articles of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Associate Degree, undergraduate education and examination regulations are applied regarding exams and Course Success grades.
